How to find you?

Snow Village is 25 minutes by car from Kittilä airport, 40 minutes from Levi and 15 minutes from Ylläs.

From Kittilä airport:

We arrange taxi transfers on request but you can also rent a car from the airport. Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Scandia Rent and Sixt are all represented at the airport. Please note that there is no public transport running to SnowVillage Driving instructions when coming from Kittilä and Levi: If you come from Levi, please drive first to Kittilä. From Kittilä, please take a road called Aakenuksentie towards Ylläs. On the signs it says Ylläsjärvi and Äkäslompolo. After app. 22km Lainiotie turns to the left. On the cross-road there are signs, among others a blue sign with pictures of fork, knife and a hotel bed and text “Lainio”. Please take this road. Lainiotie makes some turns but please do not turn anywhere. After app. 5km you will come to Snow Village: parking area is on the left hand side and from log restaurant you will get entrance fee and find the hotel reception.

From Äkäslompolo / Ylläsjärvi:

From Äkäslompolo you can take a ski bus to Ylläsjärvi and then a taxi to SnowVillage or you can take a taxi already from Äkäslompolo. When you drive your own car from Äkäslompolo, please take first the scenery road to Ylläsjärvi and head then to Kittilä (turning left at the centre of the village).

Driving instructions when coming from Ylläs:

Drive first app. 10km from Ylläsjärvi towards Kittilä. Right after crossing a river there is a road called Lainiotie turning to the right. On the cross-road there are signs, among others a blue sign with pictures of fork, knife and a hotel bed and text “Lainio”. Please take this road. Lainiotie makes some turns but please do not turn anywhere. After app. 5km you will come to Snow Village: parking area is on the left hand side and from log restaurant you will get entrance fee and find the hotel reception.

From Kolari:

Nearest railway station is in Kolari (app. 50min) and information on trains you can find from www.vr.fi. You can either take connecting bus to Ylläsjärvi and then a taxi to SnowVillage or you can take taxi directly from the railway station.

From Rovaniemi:

If you are heading to SnowVillage from Rovaniemi, you can either rent a car (driving time app. 2 hours, 170km) or take a bus to Kittilä. Information on coaches you can find from www.matkahuolto.fi. From Kittilä you can take a taxi to SnowVillage. When coming by car, please drive first road no. 79 to Kittilä, pass the centre of Kittilä and follow then driving instructions from Kittilä.

When to check-in and check-out?

Snow Village is open for public from 10:00 to 22:00. During these hours visitors have access to the rooms with an entrance fee. Therefore we advise overnight guests to arrive around 18:00 (unless you have booked activities) which leaves enough time for guided tour and dinner before going to sleep. Breakfast is served from 09:00 to 10:00.

What to bring with us?

For the overnight stay in the snow hotel you will only need long sleeve underwear and your personal items. Sleeping bags, pillows and towels are provided by Snow Village. Please check Sleepover instructions from section 'SnowHotel' for further information.

Do we have to book excursions in advance?

Excursions must be booked by 17:00 previous day. Therefore we suggest you book the excursions in advance at least for your first days of your staying. Programmes by request must always be booked in advance.

How to make a booking?

We take bookings via e-mail. This way you will get a confirmation as well. When you make the booking, please provide us the following information:

full name and address

number of persons staying overnight

requested room type

requested date

estimated time of arrival

mobile phone number from which you can be reached while your stay in Finland if necessary

credit card details

pick up place (when booking car package or transfers for instance)

We have a late flight – what shall we do?

Snow Village is open until 22.00 and we hope that even the last guests would arrive around 20.00. However, if you are not able to arrive by 22.00, please contact us in advance to discuss the time for your check-in. Should your flight be delayed, please inform us at +358 40 416 7227.

Is table reservation required in the restaurants?

On busy nights it might well be that you will have to wait for a table to be released. On the other hand, when you have made a table reservation you know for sure there is space for you in the restaurant and you will not have to wait when the table is made ready for you.
